QuestCaster is a math-fact game designed to help kids build fluency through short, repeatable play sessions. It is availabe on Apple and Google stores. At its core, the product focuses on one idea: make consistent practice easy to start and easy to stick with.

The experience balances structure and engagement. The math comes first, but a light narrative layer gives the practice context, helping players stay motivated without getting in the way of repetition and recall.

Alongside the app, a lightweight launch ecosystem: a static marketing site and supporting social assets was created. The goal was to present a polished, focused public presence while the product continued to evolve.

Challenges

The core challenge was designing a system that supports consistent practice without feeling repetitive. The product needed to balance structure for fast recall with enough engagement to keep users coming back.

A parallel challenge was designing the system architecture to avoid reliance on user accounts or backend storage. The goal was to keep the experience fully functional without collecting personal data or introducing ongoing infrastructure costs. This required structuring progress, gameplay state, and core systems to run locally on the device, while still feeling persistent and complete to the user.

On mobile, this meant reducing friction everywhere. Sessions needed to be short, navigation needed to be immediate, and the experience needed to work without accounts, setup, or interruptions.

On the launch side, the challenge was similar: communicate the value of the product quickly, without over-explaining or losing the sense of discovery.

Results

QuestCaster saw early traction with initial sales and positive 5-star ratings, with users highlighting the simplicity of getting started and the ability to maintain consistent practice.

These results are supported by a cohesive system: a focused mobile experience for repeatable practice, paired with a lightweight marketing site for discovery. The product is structured to scale with usage while keeping friction low.

The end product was a lightweight, self-contained architecture that requires no user data, accounts, or third-party storage. The app runs entirely client-side, allowing it to scale without additional infrastructure costs while maintaining a simple, privacy-first experience for users. This keeps operational overhead low and ensures that growth does not introduce friction or tradeoffs for the end user or surprise costs for me.
